Established in 2020, The Ohana is a world-class residential detox on the Island of Hawaii. It’s a unique place where individuals can take the first significant step toward recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. In creating our programs, we selected the best staff from programs across the nation and the islands of Hawaii to provide treatment for individuals in a post-pandemic world.
At The Ohana Addiction Treatment Center, our mission is to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based addiction treatment services that empower individuals and families on their journey to lasting recovery. We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive community where every person can find hope, healing, and a path to a healthier future.
Our vision at The Ohana Addiction Treatment Center is to be a beacon of hope and transformation, setting the standard for excellence in addiction treatment and recovery support. We aspire to create a world where addiction is understood, treated with empathy, and recovery is celebrated as a new beginning. We aim to continually innovate, collaborate, and inspire positive change in the lives of those affected by addiction, promoting a brighter, healthier future for all.
The Ohana was established to bridge the gaps in substance use disorder care. Our primary focus is on empowering clients to enhance their coping skills and foster meaningful relationships, facilitating a smooth transition back into daily life.
The founder of The Ohana identified a challenge in the form of personalized care that allows individuals to maintain their professional and personal connections. To address this, The Ohana provides a structured environment while affording patients a degree of autonomy. We offer intensive treatment while promoting personal responsibility.
Our program is thoughtfully crafted to support individuals in their healing journey while accommodating part-time work or school commitments.
Our name, “The Ohana,” means family; it captures our commitment to building a healthy and happy community. We know that isolation and addiction go hand in hand so we treat this matter with a focus on connections. We create a family and foster an environment of loyalty, trust, and commitment to recovery, with both our clients and our staff.
We provide compassionate care by meeting every client where they are at. We then create a treatment plan that helps clients meet their goals through a client-centered approach.

Although the journey to wellness isn’t always an easy one (transformation never is) we make sure it is filled with nature, exploration and dare we say, fun!
